,i feel like an insomniac

Scarlet walked down the sidewalk of downtown Manchester with her hands stuffed in the pockets of her jacket. She watched the people pass her by, all dressed up, baring gifts in their arms or plates of homemade food made with love, that they were bringing to friends and family. A few children laughed as they walked in front of their parents, bundled up in cute little Christmas outfits with hats and scarves.

Scarlet watched the children briefly and then looked away. Her lips tightened a bit and she just sighed. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits tonight except Scarlet. She didn't like Christmas season, and certainly did not like seeing all the happy families bustling around, spending time with loved ones. A bit depressed and all alone tonight, Scarlet continued her walk down the streets, trying to ignore the normal people around her. She kept her eyes to the ground, feeling rather down. There may have not been any snow on the ground, but it was certainly freezing out tonight, and her breath hung on the air as she sulked down the sidewalk looking for a bar. On her stroll she passed the Black Brimmer and she decided to stop in for a drink or two to get out of the cold. Tugging the door open she made her way over to the bar and luckily found a seat. She ordered herself a Cosmo and sat there lost in her own thoughts as she sipped her pinkish drink.

Cameron sat a few seats down at the bar, lost in his thoughts and drinking heavily. He knew that his body wouldnt hold the liquor for long, and it tasted like shit, but old habits die hard. He looked around at the people sitting in the bar, their lives so familiar, and so far away now. He swallowed another shot, and ordered another. He noticed Scarlet out of the corner of his eye, grabbed his new drink and tipped the barkeep heavily. He got up and walked towards her, taking the seat beside her and sipping at his whiskey.
"Hey, I don't think we ever actually met, name's Cameron." he said tipping his drink to her.

Scarlet sipped at her drink, and was lost in thought when Cameron came to sit down next to her. At first she didn't think he was talking to her, but she snapped out of it and looked to him introducing himself to her. She remembered him, but couldn't place what covenant he belonged to. She knew it was the Invictus. "Nice to meet you. I'm Scarlet." She replied to him, and she lifted her martini glass towards his glass and then took a sip of her drink.

She glanced around herself to see if anyone else was with him, but only saw him for now. She looked back to him and she set her drink down in front of her. "So what brings you here tonight? Celebrating?" She asked.
