Driving to Hector's estate

::Hector simply waved off the comment about the money and snapped his fingers for Scarlet to follow. They got out to the parking lot where they moved towards his Merces.::

"You find that kindred have less things to spend their money on than ghouls or kine."

::He said once he was outside and away from people. He got to the car and handed off the keys.::

"let's get going."

::Sitting in the back of the car Hector fishes in his pockets and pulls out a small note book.::

"It's been profitable."

::He said and looked up at her through the rear view mirror. There is no GPS and the Merces is of a older model, but not worn in at all. He starts giving her directions to his place. They drive through a few more urban areas before they get out to a more rural setting.::

"This time of the year is perfect to do business, it gets dark so early in the year."

::He says and leans in his seat some.::

"I've never the time to embrace or ghoul anyone and deal with only a few retainers. Do things myself really. I'm too busy looking after the prince most of the time."

::He says, a hint of bitterness to his voice. Soon they are out of Manchester and the winding roads of Auburn lay before them. The roads are empty of other cars and street lights. They come to a 4 way intersection with a stop sign.::

"When we were craving up the suburbs of Manchester I picked this because I liked the privacy it provided."

::Hector said, caught up now in struggling with his phone and was still yet to give Scarlet a new direction.::

::Hector puts down his cell phone and motions head. As he does so a tree comes down and blocks the road ahead of them. Hector's mouth falls open and he then pushes himself as far back into the backseat he can go.::

"LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFT!"

::Hector starts to yell as large, blurry figures move around the base of the fallen tree.::

::A chunk of tree trunk landed on the back windshield and shattered the glass. Hector ducked but was still covered in a shower of glass. The road continued on some ways but didn't have any turn offs.::

"Just keep going!"

::He shouted and got low.::

"At the fork, go right."

::He said. Looking back in the rear view mirror, Scarlet could see a few dark figures that were behind but trying to keep up.::

::Hector stays low, cowering in the back seat.::

"My estate is coming up on the left!"

::He yells over the gun fire and engine roar. The dark figures behind them fall further behind as Scarlet firers her gun and soon their no even able to be seen. They arrive at a large gate which Hector directs them through. Once their through the gate, it begins to close. They pull up to a drive way circle by a large entry hall. Hector sits up some and looks around with a frown.::

"Well that was far worse than I thought."

::He said and looked to scarlet.::

::Hector got out of the car and brushed himself off. He also looked around but then shook his head when Scarlet spoke to him.::

"Wasn't always this bad... Take the car around back. Put it in the garage them come inside. I suggest you spend the night and not head back now."

::Hector said and moved to his front door. Looking out towards the back of the property, Scarlet could see a three car garage. There was a switch for the door on the in side roof of the car.::

::Hector's estate is expertly decorated, oak furniture fills every room and Persian rugs cover the hard wood floors. The house is mostly dark and he moved about the entry hall turning on some lights. When Scarlet gets close to him she can hear and see him on his house phone.::

"Yes I'm sure they were were-wolves. What else could chuck a tree at me and keep up with my car... Well yeah a daeva could do it but... Listen... No you don't need to come out tonight, I'm fine."

::Hector says and gives Scarlet one finger signaling her to wait a moment.::

"Just be sure to come by tommorow night with a few of the city's kindred... I don't know, call in a few knights or something."

::Hector says and hangs up the phone.::

"Damned hound. More muscle than brains that one..."

::Hector said and motioned for Scarlet to speak.::

::Hector squirmed some at the contact she made with him. It had been years that he had been this close to anyone for any reason other than feeding. He stepped away from Scarlet and was now seemingly very uncomfortable like in the way a cheerleader would make the book worm react.::

"Ah... You've provided a lot of assistance already tonight. I ah... appreciate the offer for... ah... everything."

::Hector says and looks up the large stair case.::

"How's about I show you to a guest room. I'm just gonna set the alarm."

::He says and then motions over his should to a control panel by the front door. He scurries over to it and punches in a code. Once the alarm has been set he moves past Scarlet, keeping some distance and motions for her to follow.::

"Ah... right this way."
